Triauna Carey

Triauna Carey is a Lecturer in the English Department at Southern Methodist University. Dr. Carey teaches rhetoric and composition courses in the Writing and Reasoning Program that emphasize logic, reasoning, and reflection in critical writing. Her courses focus on the impact of content creation in online spaces, the exploration of the writing process, and students finding their voices through their writing. In addition, she conducts research on interdisciplinary approaches to theorizing how music is used as a rhetorical tool to reflect and affect popular cultures in public spheres. Her book The Revolution Will Be Spotified: Music as a Rhetorical Mode of Resistance was released in 2024 by Lexington Books and explores popular music’s impact in times of crisis in the 21st Century.
